Action Plan

The Solution:
Health Service Reform

1. End the Two-tier System

The Health Service Executive (HSE) must be replaced. This is not a new idea. In 2010 Fine Gael promised to abolish the HSE and introduce “a completely new health system”. Fine Gael planned to replace it as part of their five point election plan in 2010.

Reduce Healthcare Costs

2. Fund Providers That Deliver

Public health service funding must be awarded to providers that deliver timely medical care. Existing health service providers who do not deliver timely medical care must be discontinued.

Fund Providers that Deliver

3. Cut Healthcare Costs

To reduce costs in healthcare, the government must increase recruitment of workers from Ireland and abroad. The cap on college places for medical students must be removed. Legally prohibit overcharging in healthcare, just like in Germany.
